CERTIFICATE IV IN
KINESIOLOGY
More
choice - more options - more experience at CCM
Our College offers students more choice and more options for
their Certificate IV in Kinesiology study:
*
Holistic Kinesiology option: combining kinesiology with many aspects of
complementary medicine;
*
Dynamic and Functional Structure option: combining kinesiology with aspects of
sports medicine to focus on performance pain and recovery.
Both pathways result in a Certificate IV in Kinesiology via
the students preferred choice in specialisation. In the Certificate IV there is
one specialist module, the other modules are shared. The degree of
specialisation increases in the Diploma where there are four unique modules in

certificate IV course structure
How is the
course studied?
Our College has more study options so you can pick the one
that suits you best. The Certificate IV is presented as a series of six modules
studied either full time or part time. The full time structure is attended 2
days a week, studied over 7 months. The part-time course is studied largely on
weekends over 12 months. There are 367 hours of face to face teaching and 102
hours of distance learning, 469 hours in total.
Each module covers a different area of kinesiology. The
course focuses on both the theoretical and the practical side of kinesiology,
with most modules allocating almost equal time to lectures and student practice
time. This means students are able to apply and cement the theory they learn
under the guidance and supervision of a lecturer.
All students are given the opportunity to attend Practice
days and nights held on campus, during which they can practice their techniques
with fellow students with a supervisor at hand to answer all questions and
provide demonstrations. By practicing and using the skills gained in the last
module, students grow more confident when using them.
Students are required to attend practice sessions throughout
their certificate course. Students also attend clinic sessions as clients
ensuring they are supported throughout their studies.
Equipment
and Materials
The College of Complementary Medicine provides all equipment
and materials for student use on College premises for the purposes of practice,
including a variety of flower remedies, tuning forks, charts, practice tables,
and a reference library.
Assessment
Exams are held at the beginning of each module, assessing
students on knowledge from the previous module – theoretical and practical
content are both encompassed.

What
students say about studying kinesiology
"Travelling interstate to college is wonderful- for
one week a month I am surrounded by rich friendships. I leave excited by the
possibilities of how I might practice my newly acquired knowledge and skills.
What I have received from the College is a rich
foundation of knowledge, self discovery, creative expression, tools to empower
myself and others and the opportunity to heal myself and enable others to do
the same.
The gratitude I feel in my heart for the journey I have
already taken – rapids and waterfalls included – I express by fully and
completely living my life purpose…by empowering myself and others to find the
courage to experience positive transformation."
Sally Chapman, Holistic Kinesiology graduate 2005
